Honestly speaking, the Volvo FH13 2011 has its strengths and limitations. The fuel tank capacity provides sufficient range, which is practical for long hauls. The electronic systems, including the Bluetooth connectivity and board computer, add convenience. However, I encountered some complexity in the configuration, and the automated gearbox takes some getting used to. Overall, it's a truck designed for efficiency.

Driving the Volvo FH equipped with the I-Save package was a distinct experience. The handling was smooth, and the Dual Clutch transmission ensured seamless gear shifts. While the I-See feature efficiently adapted to road gradients, its anticipatory adjustments might not suit dense traffic scenarios. Altogether, it’s a commendable balance of innovation and practicality.

I had the opportunity to try the Volvo FH 500 and here’s what I think. The safety features are robust, like the lane departure and proximity sensors. They contribute to a more confident drive. However, I found the handling occasionally stiff during quick maneuvers. The cabin comfort is commendable with seating adjustments and effective air control, though a bit tight for extended stays. Overall, it does its job well but isn't without minor areas for improvement.

Used a Volvo FH13 recently for a long haul. Impressions could be better. Maintenance near the 800k km mark gets pricey, as you might expect.

Drove this FH460 during one of my hauls; it's quite the reliable machine. The gearbox shifts smoothly, ensuring a steady drive without hiccups. However, I did notice the cruise control tends to slow down earlier than necessary upon approaching other vehicles, which took some getting used to. The cabin comfort stands out-it feels like a second home for long drives. All in all, a dependable partner on the road.

Driven a bunch of trucks and I’ll be honest, the new FH16 didn’t blow me away right off. But after a few weeks, it grew on me. The fuel economy is better, for sure, saving a few liters here and there when you do those long distance hauls. Took a while for me to get used to the gearbox upgrade though, feels a bit tighter when shifting but nothing wild. It runs quiet, even though it doesn’t look much different on the outside. Maintenance, I can’t really say yet, everything’s still brand new. Comfort’s good for long shifts. All in all, no real complaints but not life-changing either, just solid upgrades where it matters for the job.

I’ve had a few FHs over the years and jumped back in an FH 540 recently. First thing I noticed is how easy it is to live with day to day. Those outside lockers plus the space under the bunk… you can actually keep your kit sorted instead of stacking stuff everywhere. The bunk is proper size too (I’m tall as well) and it’s comfy enough after a long shift. Fridge is decent, door pockets are usable, loads of random storage spots on the dash.

Driving wise, the 12-speed I-Shift is smooth and it pulls clean even with weight on. With around 21t behind it, it didn’t feel stressed. The stability through bends is solid, you feel the cab stays planted. Visibility is mostly good, mirrors give you a nice view, but I did notice some wind noise up by the A-pillar at speed. Not horrible, just there.

Braking control is better than some older setups. The auxiliary brake isn’t as strong as a full retarder, but it does slow you down fine and the brake blending (B mode) feels natural, especially when you’re trying not to snatch the trailer.

Service access is straightforward too. Pop the grille and you’re right at fluids and checks, which I like when you’re doing quick walkarounds.

Only real gripe: if you’re picky about shift speed on hills, the standard box can feel a bit slow. You’d want the dual clutch option if you’re always in stop/start or steep country.

After several test drives with the Volvo FH16, I commend its robust chassis and advanced fuel-saving capabilities like the I-See system. While the adaptive high beams were beneficial, occasional adjustments were necessary for optimal visibility in mixed traffic. The interior setup was cozy, though more personal storage space would have been appreciated.

I recently had the chance to work with the updated Volvo FH16, and it's a serious contender in its class. The engine's power is something that stands out, especially the efficient response under load. However, I found that the fuel consumption claims might not fully align with real-world use, although it's still reasonable for a vehicle of this caliber.

I had a chance to drive the updated Volvo FH. The I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission works smoothly, making shifts barely noticeable, even under heavy loads. Fuel efficiency surprised me, savings are noticeable. However, the tech systems required some getting used to, but overall enhanced driving. Worth trying for those considering an upgrade.
